Resurrection
A day of joy, a day of gladness,
A day that banished fear and sadness.
The Lord has risen, death defeated,
He has risen, His work completed.
Such news for all who were held by fear,
Who saw death’s dark shadow ever near.
Such news for all who would trust in Him
To give new life and forgive their sin.
He died and in dying, drew death’s sting,
Risen and ascended Lord and King.
In His vict’ry over death I share
Knowing that He all my sins did bear.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in Me though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11: 25).
